Though the sandy beaches of the Outer Banks is the number one choice of couples coming here to be married, there are many options to choose from.

It's hard to beat the Beach, but you may want to weigh out some other wedding ceremony venues available on the Outer Banks islands.

The list below is not in any special order, and it certainly is not exhaustive, but they are all great options that you can Google or go to the Outer Banks Wedding Association website to find more information.

1.    LIGHTHOUSES: Sharing your vows in the shadow of one of our lighthouses can be awesome.

2.    JOCKEY'S RIDGE SAND DUNES: These dunes are high, really high! They give you a bird's eye view of the island.

3.    ELIZABETHAN GARDENS: Gorgeous Eden type gardens on Roanoke Island in Manteo.

4.    CHARTERED BOATS: Some couples say "I do" while floating on a chartered boat.

5.    HILTON GARDEN HOTEL "PIER BUILDING": This Kitty Hawk option is awesome, a newly renovated building for   events like weddings that literally sits over the ocean with panoramic views.

6.    NORTH CAROLINA AQUARIUM IN MANTEO: Ceremonies held next to the aquariums or outside near the Sound.

7.    THE SANDERLING INN: Wonderful classy resort with first class service. Many options, ocean or sound side.

8.    CAROVA 4X4 AREA: This is the area north of Corolla where the asphalt ends and the wild horses roam free. Pretty awesome place.
